Our studios are a blend of the old and the new – a return to the one-room community-centered schoolhouses – with the best of modern technology and 21st-century organizational design.

Spark Studio
Ages 3 - 6
- Authentic Montessori
The purpose of Spark is:
- To foster academic, physical, and emotional independence through developmentally appropriate works inspired by Maria Montessori.
- To spark curiosity through hands-on experiences and play-based challenges.
- To equip learners for the next steps of their journey by applying the Hero’s Journey philosophy.
At Empowered Minds, we believe our learners are capable of learning necessary skills like reading, writing, and mathematical reasoning at their own pace and in their own way.

Our Spark Studio is a Montessori-rich holistic environment that aims to stimulate children’s minds, spirits, and bodies as they figure out the world around them and their place in it.
Spark Studio allows learners to be curious. We offer an environment in which they are free to explore and discover the spark that ignites learning.
- Along their journey, they continue to develop vital character traits and social skills like responsibility, kindness, empathy, honesty, critical thinking, and the joys of hard work and learning.
In Discovery Studio, learners earn badges to prove mastery.
Badges help learners set goals and track progress and milestones. Badges offer clear guidelines and examples of the type of work required and freedom for learners to explore individual interests.
the purpose of discovery studio is:
- Build a foundation of learning and discovery through personalized Core Skills, exploratory Quest projects, and play.
- Bind the community together and build problem-solving skills through collaboration and plenty of free play.
- Explore the arts, sciences, history and natural world through hands-on projects each afternoon with simulations that require teamwork, critical thinking, and creativity.
About Badges
- Heroes celebrate the mastery of tools, skills, and character by earning badges, assembling portfolios, and participating in public exhibitions.
- Parents may use badges to track academic progress in Core Skills like reading, writing, math, and spelling and character development in “Learn to Be” Badges.
- Electronic and hard copy Portfolios capture rough drafts, photos, videos, and other creative work.
- Public exhibitions at the end of most Quests allow young heroes to present work to experts, customers, or the public for a real-world test.
